I am a licensed structural engineer specializing in the evaluation of buildings for structural integrity and code compliance. Over the past decade, I have evaluated the structural designs of thousands of residential and commercial buildings for conformity with accepted engineering practice and compliance with the governing building codes. My work involves close collaboration with building officials, structural engineers, architects, residential designers and property owners to ensure that proposed designs meet the essential requirements for structural integrity and life safety.

In addition to my consulting work, I am deeply committed to education within the building and construction industry. I have developed and delivered engaging training courses on structural engineering principles and building code requirements (details below).

Through extensive interactions with engineers, designers, homeowners, inspectors, plan reviewers and building officials, I’ve identified a critical need for a comprehensive and systematic training package on conventional construction to demystify the complex code provisions in the International Residential Code. This inspired me to create the in-depth residential plan check training series that is presented on this website.

These courses aim to inform, equip, and empower plan reviewers, inspectors and building officials with the knowledge and tools necessary to perform code compliance plan reviews with confidence, clarity and professional consistency.
